Page 119. " We said there warn't no home like a raft, after all. Other places do seem so cramped and smothery, but a raft don't. You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft. "

After being alone for so long, Huck just wanted a friend. When Jim came along Huck's thoughts and actions changed. He started to be more comfortable where he was, and was doing things with less fear. This is shown in the quote because he was very comfortable even in a raft.

Page 121. " It's lovely to live on a raft. We had the sky, up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made, or only just happened "

This is an allusion to religion. Huck and Jim were having a convorsation about the stars and how they got there. The thought that they were made versus the thought that they just happened are similar to the idea that God created the universe and everything in it or that the big bang happened and things were just there.
