Budapest is the capital of Hungary.

In 1919, Hungarian socialists and communists, led by Béla Kun, took control of Hungary and re-named it the Hungarian Soviet Republic.

They were subsequently overthrown by counter-revolutionary forces. In 1920, Miklós Horthy (Nicholas Horthy de Nagybánya) became Hungary's Regent and Head of State.
