Antonin Scalia (b. 1936) is an Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court.  He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan. He opposes the judgement of the Roe v Wade abortion case and affirmative action.

Leslie George Scarman (1911-2004) was an English judge and barrister. He is best known for chairing two high profile enquiries, into the Brixton Race Riots and the Northen Ireland riots of 1969.

Jack Schaefer was a prodigious author of Western novels. He was born in Ohio and worked for a long time as a journalist for the United Press. Given the level of conflict in most Western novels, Mr Black would probaby have written 'War' next to his name.
