Page 360. " as if it were Plato’s Republic "

 Plato was an Athenian philosopher of the 5th century BC. He wrote a work of political philosophy called the Republic, in which he imagined how the perfect state would be run. Plato himself was considered one of the greatest philosophers of all time, and his Republic was an incredibly influential book.

 Apollo was the god of light, archery, prophecy, healing, music, poetry and the arts. When represented in art, he is usually portrayed as a beautiful, almost androgynous youth, with what appear to modern eyes as some very feminine features and stances.
