Nicholas Shakespeare contests that In Patagonia contains several factual errors. Patagonia is usually said to start at the Río Colorado, and not 12okm further south at the Río Negro as Chatwin states. The Negro, which is actually greenish-brown, is a translation from the Araucanian Curú Leuvú and not a reference to its colour.
