Eugène Marin Labiche (1815-1888) was a French writer. Although he started as a novelist, he found his true vocation writing farces for the stage, producing many successful comedies and vaudevilles.

Une Nuit de Cléopâtre is the last work by Victor Massé (1822-1884) (see the bookmark to p. 295, "to see the Reine Topaze"). It was not performed until April 1885, nine months after his death.
