Today, sloop is the name given to a warship whose size is between that of a corvette and that of a frigate. Historically, however, the term referred to ships of various sizes and rigging structure, including the type of ship known as the Bermuda sloop, which was used by the Royal Navy from 1795 onwards. There does not seem to be any evidence that a sloop with the name Thrush actually existed.
