"Bassano, Longhi, Vivarini"

The Accademia, a gallery of pre-19th century art, gives its name to the Accademia Bridge, where Julia Garnet first catches sight of the breath-taking  Santa Maria della Salute (see p.20 bookmark).

The gallery and bridge are no. 4 on the map at the back of the book (Afterword p.7).

Jacapo Bassano (c.1510 -1592), Pietro Longhi (1701-1785),  Vivarini (the name of a family of 15th century artists) are all Venetian painters representing a variety of periods, styles and subject matter.
