A n'anga is a traditional Shona witch doctor. The powers of a n'anga include fortune-telling, removing and casting spells, healing and even killing people.

While most n'angas provide herbal remedies for minor ailments, some crave more potent ingredients to create their muti (Zulu for medicine). "Healers", often with little formal training, have become an option of last resort for many sufferers. The remedies are concocted from roots, barks, leaves, animal parts and, occasionally, human organs.
