Fort Lauderdale, FL

Fort Lauderdale is located on the coast of Florida between Palm Beach and Miami.  With a population of almost 180,000 people, it is the largest city in Broward County. Fort Lauderdale has a year round tropical climate that attracts many tourists.  The population is quite diverse. The residents in Fort Lauderdale are descendents of many different races, including Caucasians, Hispanics, and African Americans.  Nearly 12% of the population does not speak English.  This diversity makes Fort Lauderdale a popular site for tourists.  Many college students take trips here for Spring Break; however, law enforcement officers are now discouraging these trips because of the past crime and chaos the students have created.
