"Emily Dickinson's voluntary confinement"
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (1830 - 1886), was an American poet - a very private person and a homebody by choice. Her poems were unconventional in form for the era, with broken rhymes and seemingly random capitalisation and punctuation, and few were published during her lifetime. The first collection of her work was published in 1890.
