"Angela Burdett-Coutts and Charles Dickens"

In 1837 Angela Burdett-Coutts (1814 - 1906), became the wealthiest woman in England when she inherited her grandfather's fortune of nearly three million pounds sterling. She was a philanthropist who, along with Charles Dickens, established Urania Cottage, a home that helped to reform women who had turned to prostitution and theft.
