The New Yorker is a liberal magazine which has been in publication since 1925 and is still going strong today. Bukowski claimed to be apolitical, but is writing often leans towards the left. It seems apt for him to dissaprove of such a mainstream middleclass title, with his dislike of bourgeois society.
