"Words do not express thoughts very well"

Thoughts are mental activity, including ideas and imagination, of an individual's subjective consciousness. The act of thinking enables a person to look at things with different perspectives, and interpret needs, attachments, objectives, plans and desires. Language as we know it today emerged primarily to fulfill the need to express thoughts, and ideas. However, the scope of mental activity is vaster than the lexicon. The addition of new words in the dictionary each year, is an example of this gap between thoughts and words. The evolution of words is preceded by the development of thought. Hence, words may not be sufficient to express the totality of all human thought.
