  Darwin’s Theory of Evolution

  • There is variation in every population
  • Organism compete for limited resoureces
  • Organisms produce more offsprings than can survive
  • Organisms pass genetic traits on to their offsprings
  • Those organisms with the most beneficial traits are more likely to survive and reproduce (Natural Selection)

Darwin imagined it might be possible that all life is descended from an original species from ancient times. Probably all organic beings which have ever lived on this earth have descended from some one primordial life form. From so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved. (The Origin of Species)
