Peggy's Cove, also known as Peggy's Point, is a small idyllic fishing village surrounding a narrow ocean inlet that provides a safe haven for boats during the Atlantic's rough weather. Peggy’s Cove is populated by brightly painted buildings, weathered fishing piers and a fleet of fishing boats. The lighthouse, built on the large smooth wave-washed granite rocks, is the crowning feature of this beautiful Atlantic basin. While undoubtedly the most well-known lighthouse in Canada and one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, the history of the light at Peggy's Cove is little known.
