The first Mughal emperor, Babur, gave orders for a garden to be built in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1528.  The garden was called Bagh-e Babur and Babur himself was buried there.  His tomb bears the inscription "if there is a paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this!".
