The National Tree of Pakistan is the deodar tree, a species of cedar also found in parts of India, Afghanistan, Tibet and Nepal.  The tree typically grows to 40-50m tall and is a coniferous evergreen.

In Hinduism, the deodar is considered to be a sacred tree.  It also has medicinal properties; the aromatic inner wood can be used to make incense and essential oils, and the bark and stem can be used as astringents.
