West Norwood Cemetery (pictured) was one of Magnificent Seven cemeteries established around London in the 19th century. It boasts extremely elaborate and ornate tombs, with many of them listed for historical conservation.

New private cemeteries opened around London as the metropolis spread and the population grew, following a parliamentary bill banning further burials in crowded inner London churchyards.
