Carole Lombard starred in a number of American films, particularly comedies of the 1930s. Towards the end of the decade, she was the highest earning actress in Hollywood, making about five times as much as the US president. She died aged 33 in an airplane accident.


Arturo Toscanini was a uniquely gifted musician, composer and conductor of the early 1900s. He was known for having a photographic memory.
