"the composer, Ravel, and the word Pavane under the bar of musical score."

Joseph-Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) was a French composer of Impressionist music. He is perhaps best known for his work Bolero which he considered trivial.  This music will be well-known to audiences of a certain age who have seen the movie '10'.

Pavane for a Dead Princess was written for a solo piano in 1899. An orchestrated version of the music appeared in 1910.
