The Lost Garden tells the story of horticulturist Gwen Davis, a woman more comfortable trying to find a cure for parsnip canker than dealing with people. In 1941, she leaves London, a city she deeply loves, and heads to the Devon countryside to help restore an estate garden.

The Lost Garden is a quiet novel. Away from the dangers of London during the Blitz, Gwen confronts new problems. How can she lead the group of sullen Land Army girls who have been tasked to help her work the overgrown gardens?  What will she do with her growing feelings for Captain Raley, one of the Canadian soldiers billeted at the estate?

As Gwen toils in the garden, she discovers  herself opening to the possibility of love.
