American Bandstand was an American musical variety show that aired in various forms from 1952 to 1989. It was hosted from 1957 until its final season by Dick Clark, who also served as producer. The show featured teenagers dancing to Top 40-type music introduced by Clark; at least one popular musical act—over the decades, running the gamut from Jerry Lee Lewis to Run DMC—would usually appear in-person to lip-sync one of their latest singles. Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon holds the record for most appearances at 110.

Jezebel was a Phoenician princess who became queen in northern Israel when she married King Ahab.

The Bible treats her as a villain because she was a devotee of Baal, God's rival in the Old Testament, and the Hebrew prophets Elijah and Elisha took against her.

Her name has become unfairly associated with prostitution, possibly because she was known to use a lot of make-up -- she is portrayed as the original "painted lady".
