Fay Compton (1894-1978) was an English actress who came from a distinguished theatrical family.

She was the sister of the actress Viola Compton and of the novelist Compton Mackenzie.

During a stage, film, and television career which spanned more than fifty years, she had the distinction of playing Ophelia to John Gielgud's Hamlet and of being directed by Lawrence Olivier in Uncle Vanya.
