In one of the few known examples of tool use by animals, chimpanzees have been observed "fishing" for ants by inserting a stick into an anthill and then slowly withdrawing it with ants clinging to the sides.
Chimpanzees will even shape the stick with their teeth to fit into a hole: they are tool-makers.

It also brings to mind the dove in the story of Noah's Ark, which brings news of the receding flood waters; according to the story God gave his word never again to exact such destruction on earth.
