Topaz is a crystal that in its pure form is clear and transparent but is usually tinted by impurities: typical topaz can be wine, yellow, pale red, or orange.
Garnets come in many colors including red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The rarest of these is the blue garnet, found in Madagascar. It is also found in parts of the United States, Russia and Turkey.
Onyx is a form of quartz that can be found in almost every color except blue and purple, and has long been used for carving and jewellery.
