La Push is a tiny community seven miles west of Forks, with a population of about 350 residents. It is known for its beautiful beaches, its surfing and whaling, as well as the Ocean Park Resort along James Beach. The name La Push derives from the French La Bouche, due to its location at the mouth of the River Quileute.

La Push is inhabited solely by the Quileute tribe, and it has been their home for thousands of years. The town, local resort and harbor are all managed by the Quileute tribe.
